Mind Over Matter: My Dissertation

This process is a good learning curve about commitment, to yourself, your own thoughts and voice, your sense of discipline and life in general. These are some of the things that this process has taught me;

1. It's always good to think and have ideas but the strength of what you are trying to achieve is better on paper in black and white.

2. It's important to be consistent, granted the body and the mind will tire and start playing tricks with you but consistency of work and thought helps. Not that I have mastered this but I've found in those periods where I have been consistent with myself to be the most freeing.

3. This will be a time of frequent tests, not only your writing ability will be tried but of patience and care. Everything, almost everything in your life will fall apart but having a constant flame nurtured and lit somewhere in your life helps. All I can say is thank the heavens for Kids.

I'm still learning and discovering, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading, researching and the general buzz of ideas. I do take movie breaks, a healthy internet connection is key, I do and have lost my way but I'll get there. The end is near and I'm sure it will be bittersweet.
